On January 20, 2026, in Hanoi, the International Cooperation Department, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), organized a program to propose a roadmap for the implementation of the National Blue Carbon Action Partnership Program (NBCAP).

In addition to specifying the contents of the Letter of Intent on cooperation to support marine and coastal health, signed between the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the World Economic Forum (WEF) in October 2025, the program also marked the launch of the Vietnam NBCAP Secretariat, led by UNDP. Delegates focused on emphasizing the important role of blue carbon ecosystems such as mangroves, seagrass beds, and coastal wetlands in strengthening resilience to climate change, conserving biodiversity, and sustaining livelihoods for local communities.
Throughout the program's activities, Dr. Nguyen Phuong Nam - General Director of KLINOVA and Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Hue - Project Director, demonstrated deep interest and commitment to accompanying the initiatives, dialogues, and practices related to sustainable development, especially in the field of blue carbon - a new and potential pillar in Vietnam.
