As green transformation and sustainable development become global imperatives, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across the APEC region face pressing challenges in adopting Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards. The workshop aimed to build capacity for SMEs, dismantle barriers related to capital access, data infrastructure, and regulatory compliance, and promote public-private partnerships across the region. The two-day event gathered policy leaders, international experts from the Philippines, Malaysia, Chile, and Russia, financial advisors, and business representatives.
An honor highlight of the conference was the active contribution of experts from KLINOVA Climate Innovation Consulting & Services. In Session 3 on financing instruments, Dr. Nguyen Phuong Nam, Founder & CEO of KLINOVA, shared key insights from KLINOVA's survey of 1,019 enterprises regarding green capital access barriers. He presented innovative instruments such as Sustainability-Linked Loans (SLLs), Blended Finance, and Asset-Backed Securitization (ABS) while highlighting national incentive policies and real-world project case studies.
In Session 5, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Hue, Project Director at KLINOVA, delivered a practical 5-step roadmap tailored for SMEs to initiate their ESG journey. She guided participants through setting up E-S-G KPI measurement systems, collecting and verifying data in line with GRI standards, and navigating ESG reporting strategies to mitigate greenwashing risks.
Through this workshop, KLINOVA further consolidated its role as a trusted strategic partner for government ministries, international organizations, and the business community in driving carbon neutrality and sustainable growth.
