Hanoi, October 2, 2025 – The Vietnam New Economy Forum 2025 (VNEF), themed “Vietnam’s Economic Momentum: From Domestic Strength to Global Value Chains,” officially opened in Hanoi, gathering leaders of the Party and Government, representatives of ministries and sectors, along with a large number of leading economists and business executives from Vietnam and abroad.
In his keynote address, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc emphasized that the new economic model is not merely a choice but a command of the times. To make a breakthrough, Vietnam must simultaneously strengthen its internal capacities and deepen its integration into global value chains. The Government, he affirmed, will continue to accompany the business community, providing an enabling policy environment to foster innovation and enhance resilience amid global economic, political, and climate fluctuations.

He noted that the country needs transformative models that fully harness domestic resources while linking closely with international supply chains to ensure long-term momentum.
The Forum featured a series of insightful presentations addressing key economic challenges and introducing several initiatives to help Vietnam achieve its economic goals in the coming years. Mr. Tim Evans, CEO of HSBC Vietnam, analyzed the potential for Vietnam’s economy to “take off” amid global integration. The panelists discussed ways to strengthen domestic capacity, develop new economic models, and elevate Vietnam’s position within a rapidly restructuring global supply chain.
Amid challenges posed by geopolitical shifts, supply chain realignments, and the growing pressure for green transformation, the Vietnam New Economy Forum 2025 reaffirmed that sustainable development can only be achieved when the country fully leverages its internal strengths while proactively engaging with global trends. The Forum serves as a crucial step in Vietnam’s path toward becoming a highly competitive economy more deeply connected with the global ecosystem.
