On 28 May 2026, the workshop “Vietnam Energy Outlook 2026 – Opportunities, Challenges and Project Risk Management”, co-hosted by EPLegal and KLINOVA, was successfully held simultaneously in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City as part of Vietnam Arbitration Week (VAW) 2026.
The event brought together industry experts, investors, energy companies, financial institutions, and legal professionals to discuss the outlook for Vietnam’s energy sector during the 2026–2030 period. As Vietnam accelerates its energy transition, strengthens its policy framework, and advances toward its Net Zero 2050 commitment, the workshop provided a platform for in-depth discussions on investment opportunities, market challenges, and risk management strategies in energy projects.
The first session focused on investment opportunities and energy transition trends. Speakers explored the development prospects of renewable energy and emerging energy technologies, the growing demand for financing energy transition initiatives, and the increasingly important role of green finance, green credit, green bonds, and carbon markets. Alongside new investment opportunities, the discussion also addressed strategic risks related to policy developments, planning and permitting processes, project financing, grid integration, and long-term project operations.

Representing KLINOVA, Dr. Nguyen Phuong Nam delivered a presentation on Vietnam’s energy transition landscape for 2026–2030, highlighting both financial opportunities and strategic risks associated with renewable energy projects. His presentation emphasized that while the energy transition is creating significant investment potential across sectors such as solar power, wind energy, and pumped-storage hydropower, it also requires investors and businesses to adopt more comprehensive approaches to policy assessment, financial structuring, market risk management, and sustainability considerations.

The programme also featured discussions on recent developments in Vietnam’s regulatory framework for energy, green investment, and carbon markets. These evolving policies are expected to play an increasingly important role in shaping project bankability, access to capital, and risk management practices across the sector.
Building on the investment and energy transition discussions, the second session focused on project risk management and dispute resolution. Legal, arbitration, and project advisory experts shared practical insights into emerging disputes in the energy and ESG sectors, legal risks arising throughout the project lifecycle, and recommendations for effective dispute prevention and resolution.

The workshop facilitated active exchanges among speakers and participants across both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Through these discussions, attendees gained valuable insights into market trends, practical experiences, and opportunities for collaboration within the broader ecosystem of energy, finance, law, and sustainable development.

KLINOVA would like to express its sincere appreciation to EPLegal, all speakers, partners, and participants for their valuable contributions to the success of the event. As a consulting firm specializing in climate innovation, green transition, and sustainable development, KLINOVA remains committed to supporting businesses, investors, and partners in identifying opportunities, strengthening risk management capabilities, and advancing Vietnam’s sustainable energy transition.
