According to information from the working delegation, during the meeting on November 13 with Brazilian Senator Humberto Costa, Ambassador Bui Van Nghi discussed priorities for bilateral cooperation and strengthening coordination at multilateral forums, particularly in the field of climate change response and promoting equity in climate governance.

Both sides shared legislative experience, emphasizing the role of parliament in monitoring the implementation of climate commitments, and agreed to strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation to contribute a common voice at international mechanisms.

On November 14, Ambassador Bui Van Nghi attended the Parliamentary Conference co-organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the Brazilian National Congress on the sidelines of COP30. The conference focused on discussing how to transform global climate commitments into transparent, equitable, and accountable national action.

Delegates at the conference focused on discussing several key topics, including the role of parliamentarians in mobilizing and monitoring climate finance and measures to reduce the unequal impacts of climate change on women and girls, as well as promoting empowerment and strengthening women's leadership roles in climate policy formulation. The conference once again affirmed the pivotal role of legislative bodies in ensuring climate actions are implemented effectively, transparently, and sustainably.

On the sidelines of the event, Ambassador Bui Van Nghi held bilateral exchanges with delegations from Cambodia, China, the Marshall Islands, and many other international partners to enhance understanding and promote parliamentary cooperation on climate change.
