The project “The Role of Governance in Financing Public Transport Electrification: A Comparative Analysis of Practices in Kenya and Vietnam” (VK E-MOBI) is an international research initiative funded by UKAid and the Climate Compatible Growth Fund. The project is jointly implemented by Climate Innovation Consulting & Services Joint Stock Company (KLINOVA) and the Academy Of Construction Strategy And Cadres Training in Vietnam, together with Drivelectric Solutions Limited and the African E-Mobility Alliance (AfEMA) in Kenya.
The project aims to analyse the role and impacts of governance models on the mobilisation and allocation of financial resources for public transport electrification in low- and middle-income countries, with a particular focus on Kenya and Vietnam. Based on this analysis, the project proposes feasible and scalable investment and financing mechanisms to support the development and refinement of policies promoting low-emission transport in Vietnam, in the context of advancing climate commitments and sustainable development objectives.

Within the framework of the project, (KLINOVA) will organise a consultation workshop to gather inputs from relevant stakeholders on the current situation, challenges, and opportunities in developing legal frameworks and financing models for public transport electrification in Vietnam. The contributions collected at the workshop will be synthesised and analysed to finalise the research report and develop practical policy recommendations, thereby supporting the national transition process and helping address challenges faced by transport sector enterprises.
