The Power of Perseverance: Women’s Journey from Participation to Leadership in Energy Transition
Recently, KLINOVA Project Director Ms. Hue NGUYEN delivered an inspiring sharing session in the 8th episode of “Transition Dialogue”, a program organized through the collaboration between MB Group and the Energy Partnership Project of the GIZ Energy Support Programme - Viet Nam.
Joining the program were two female experts with extensive hands-on experience in Vietnam and internationally: Ms. Christiana Hageneder, Director of the GIZ Energy Support Programme Vietnam, and Ms. Hue NGUYEN, a United Nations expert on ESG and greenhouse gas inventories, who has worked alongside more than 40 energy and green transition projects.
Together, Ms. Hageneder and Ms. Hue NGUYEN offered insightful perspectives on breaking stereotypes and empowering women to confidently shape a greener future.
Throughout the conversation, the speakers explored practical and real-world perspectives rather than relying solely on abstract academic theories:
- Inspiring women and breaking gender stereotypes: Encouraging young women to confidently pursue careers in engineering and energy, while discussing how to overcome social stereotypes so that women can speak up, demonstrate their capabilities, and step into the center stage.
- Sharing hands-on experience and embracing lifelong learning: The speakers discussed how they approached emerging fields such as renewable energy, ESG, and the circular economy through self-learning and “learning by doing”, turning failures into valuable lessons and continuously improving themselves.
- The role of support networks: The discussion highlighted the development of the Women in Energy Vietnam Network (WEVN), supported by GIZ, in providing a platform for women in the sector to connect, learn, and access free training on emerging topics.
- Expanding the pathway to Green Jobs: Young female professionals were introduced to a broad ecosystem of career opportunities.
Closing the inspiring dialogue on the expanding opportunities within the green jobs ecosystem, Ms. Minh Hue shared a powerful message: “Although women are often considered the weaker sex, we have enough strength to accomplish anything.”
We hope that the dedication and contributions of these two inspiring women will continue to serve as a powerful source of motivation, spreading practical knowledge and expertise while advancing gender equality in Vietnam’s energy transition.
