WORKSHOP “SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS: NEW ADVANTAGES – NEW VALUE”

The event took place amid growing recognition that sustainability, ESG, and inclusive growth are no longer optional considerations but strategic imperatives for Vietnamese enterprises navigating economic transformation and global integration.

Discussions at the conference focused on emerging approaches to building competitive advantage by embedding environmental, social, and governance considerations into business strategies. A key message underscored throughout the event was that sustainability should be viewed not merely as a matter of corporate responsibility, but as a long-term value driver that strengthens resilience, enhances competitiveness, and contributes positively to socio-economic development.

The conference also highlighted common challenges facing businesses in implementing ESG practices in Viet Nam, including limitations in data availability, financial and human resources, as well as gaps in policy alignment and implementation mechanisms. Many participants emphasized the need for closer public–private collaboration, alongside enhanced capacity building, standardization, and technical support, to enable more effective and context-appropriate ESG adoption by enterprises.
